Residential Services
A truly exceptional home gym is one of the most rewarding investments a homeowner can make — and one of the most difficult to execute without specialist knowledge. At Platinum Gym Design, we have spent years refining the process of transforming residential spaces into world-class private fitness environments. Our custom gym design service covers every element of the project, from the first conversation to the final calibration of your equipment.
The foundation of everything we do is space planning. A poorly planned gym — however expensive the equipment — will never function well. We begin by understanding how you train: the movements you perform, the equipment you need, the people who will use the space, and the atmosphere you want to create. From this foundation, we develop a layout that maximizes usable area, ensures safe equipment spacing, and creates intuitive flow between training zones.
3D visualization is a core part of our process. Before any equipment is ordered or construction begins, you will be able to walk through a photorealistic rendering of your gym — reviewing equipment placement, material finishes, lighting schemes, and spatial proportions in complete detail. This investment in the design phase eliminates costly changes during installation and ensures the completed space matches your expectations precisely.
Equipment selection for personal use is a discipline in itself. The best equipment for a commercial gym is rarely the right choice for a private residence — it may be too large, too industrial in aesthetic, or designed for usage patterns very different from a single user's training habits. We work with a curated network of premium equipment brands — including Technogym, Life Fitness, Sorinex, and PENT — alongside a select group of specialist European manufacturers, to specify products that are right for your training, your space, and your home's design language.
Flooring, lighting, and acoustics are the invisible architecture of a great gym. The right rubber flooring system protects your subfloor, reduces vibration transmission, and provides the grip and cushioning appropriate to your training disciplines. Lighting design — using tunable LED systems that can be set to different intensities and color temperatures — significantly affects energy, focus, and the perceived quality of the space. Acoustic treatment, particularly important in basement or open-plan environments, ensures your training doesn't disturb the rest of your home.
Smart gym technology integration is an increasingly important component of luxury fitness design. From integrated display screens and entertainment systems to connected equipment that tracks and programs your training, to automated lighting and climate control systems — we design these elements in from the start, ensuring all technology is seamlessly integrated rather than bolted on as an afterthought.
Many of our most celebrated residential projects include dedicated recovery and wellness zones. An infrared sauna, cold plunge, steam room, or massage area transforms a gym into a complete private wellness sanctuary — and increasingly, these elements are what distinguishes a truly exceptional home gym from a well-equipped one.
Our white-glove installation service means we manage every trade and every detail of the build process. We coordinate with your architect, interior designer, and general contractor where applicable, and take full responsibility for the delivery and installation of every element of your gym. When we hand over your completed space, every piece of equipment has been tested and calibrated, every surface has been inspected, and you have been fully briefed on how to use everything in it.
We don't consider a project complete until you're fully satisfied. Every completed home gym includes:
"Your gym should deliver results from day one — not sit unused because no one showed you how to make the most of it."
